So I've been intrigued with raw foods for awhile, though I haven't actually attempted to make a raw dish. However, to kick start my cooking of raw foods I've signed up for a cooking class that teaches all the basics. It's all about nuts, and soaking, and seeds, and blending, and all that good stuff. It's not until October, but I'm already looking forward to it! Hopefully, I'll get some good recipes I can share with you all!

Mmm, yummy raw foods!
Just be careful - going on a totally raw diet is actually not healthy and can cause a lot of gastrointestinal issues (heh, I should know, lol!).
Good luck on your class!!! That's exciting. ^.^
Nice to see your blog being updated again, too! I will have to try out your new black bean recipe. I hadn't known most beers are not vegan and now I'm wondering what ingredient(s) they add that are not vegan. (I hope a lot of the microbrews I have access to will do because so many sure are tasty!
Btw, have you ever heard of tomato soup cake? A friend of mine recently told me of it. It's basically spice cake with Campbell's tomato soup (which isn't vegan, but I'm sure you can vamp it). He swears it's delicious. Something else I will have to experiment with once it gets cooler out.
Peace!

I have absolutely no desire to go on a completely raw diet. I like things to be hot and cooked. :) I can't really get over the fact that nuts and seeds are high calorie and yet it's supposed to be the bulk of the diet...? I just kind of want to try a few meals out and see what all the fuss is about. Maybe detox for a couple o' days.
I've heard of tomato soup cake, it's been around for a really long time (maybe the 1930's or so), but I'm pretty sure I'd be one of those people who could pick out the flavor of it and not enjoy it... ew... actually, the idea of it really grosses me out... even if the soup was vegan! Lol.
